Student School Board Representatives (2024-2025)
The Ames Community School District welcomes two new student representatives to the school board for the 2024-2025 school year, Vienna Rossmanith and Fatimah Naraghi. They join the board after being selected through an application process. Rossmanith and Naraghi were introduced and welcomed at the October 7, 2024 board meeting.
Rossmanith is a junior at Ames High and is involved with Chamber Orchestra, Robotics, Math Club, and Science Olympiad. A tradition she is most fond of at Ames High is the Philharmonic concerts where band and orchestra members perform together.
“I am most excited to learn about how our school district is run and to give students representation and a voice on the issues they care about,” said Rossmanith.
Naraghi, a senior at Ames High, is actively involved in several leadership and community-focused activities. She serves as the Central Region Vice President for International DECA, and is an active Student Council member. Additionally, Naraghi is part of the Varsity and Competition cheerleading team and National Honor Society, plus she volunteers as a tutor and coach for elementary students in the community. Her favorite tradition is cowbell. “The energy and unity it brings to our school community is something truly special,” says Naraghi.
“I want to do whatever I can to ensure my fellow students’ voices are heard,” adds Naraghi. “This role gives me the chance to represent my peers, share diverse perspectives, and make sure student concerns are included in important decisions.”.
Rossmanith and Naraghi’s terms of office are from the first regular Board meeting in October to the last regular Board meeting in May.
