Ames Area Wrestling Club

Ames Area Wrestling Club hosted by Ames High School is happy to welcome everyone to the new and upcoming season. It is an exciting time to be a part of wrestling in Ames! Our middle and high school programs had phenomenal success last year and there are some exciting new changes coming to the club this year. Below you will find details on the upcoming club season.

Meet The Clinicians

Head Clinician: Sam Schuyler
Ames Area Wrestling Club is excited to announce former Iowa State Cyclone heavyweight Sam Schulyer as our new head clinician! Sam was a 3x NCAA qualifier and amassed 70 career victories between his time at Iowa State University and the University of Buffalo. Sam is excited to give back to the sport of wrestling by supporting the youth of our community.

Assistant Clinician: Corey Cabanban
Former Iowa State Cyclone wrestler Corey Cabanban will join the Ames Area Wrestling Club staff as an assistant clinician. Corey was a 5 year team who compiled 30 varsity victories for the Cyclones. He was also a 4x state champion in Hawaii. Corey is excited to share his joy of wrestling with the members of our club.

Session 1 Camp Information

Grade Levels: Kindergarten-Sixth Grade
Dates: Monday and Wednesday Evenings, beginning October 23rd. (17 practices)
Oct. 23rd, 25th, 30th
Nov. 1st, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 27th, 29th
Dec. 4th, 6th, 11th, 13th, 18th and 20th
Time: 6:30 pm-7:30 pm
Location: Ames High Wrestling Room (Enter through south doors by football field)
Cost: $100 dollars (1 Session, 17 practices)
Registration: Registration can be completed online via Ryzer on the Ames Area Wrestling Club
